I know what a leek is!!!! With Michaela's help I located a leek in the grocery store and we made potato and leek soup! It was yummy and everyone ate it. : ) I even made my own blue cheese salad dressing from real blue cheese! My husband is so impressed! : )
If it wasn't for Denmark I wouldn't have been forced to cook. BUT - It would be much better to learn to cook somewhere where the items I need are available and written in English. Most of what I buy is based on pictures... and trust that it's hard to tell the difference between baking soda, baking powder, and cornstarch. : )

Hi there! I have been following your blog for about two years now. Since I had time, I decide to read your blog from the beginning. This particular posting really hit home for me. Being from Houston, I really never had to cook until I moved here to Denmark. I was thinking about all the tiny cooking accomplishments I have and praises I get. If they only knew how I cooked back in Houston. It was not pretty. :)
